John William Godward (1861-1922) est un peintre anglais de la fin de la période pré-raphaélite et néo-classique. Il était un protégé de Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, et son style est tombé en désuétude avec l'avènement de peintres comme Picasso. 

John William Godward (1861-1922) was an English painter from the end of the Neo-Classicist era. He was a protégé of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, but his style of painting fell out of favour with the arrival of painters such as Picasso.
